…if you’re not looking for random pop up ads and affiliate links in every sentence.

This is a passion project and something for me to do when I’m not ‘feeling it’ or avoiding all the things I actually have to do!

When I initially started cook.love.shoot, I was overwhelmed with trying to take beautiful, magazine worthy photos of my food, collecting props and interesting backdrops and comparing myself to some of the amazing food photographers on Instagram. My mind was boggled with affiliate links, advertising pop ups, collaborators, guest blogging and trying to monetise my site.

Information overload…which is the reason I stopped. It was just too much to deal with and not making money from my blog had me feeling like a failure.

Enter cook.love.shoot V.2.

I have a love/hate relationship with cooking dinner for my family! The endless obligation and need to think about what to cook, shop for ingredients and then actually cooking what I had planned can be exhausting! Sometimes, however, I’m inspired by something I’ve seen or aromas I’ve smelt walking down the street, and those are the times I’m motivated to cook something exciting and take photos. Insert disclaimer…they’ll more than likely be iPhone photos.

Obvs, things change constantly, but this is where I’m at for now and I’m doing it for me!

You’re in the right place

I’m Carol and (along with millions of people, I’m sure) I started a cooking blog during COVID as a creative outlet. My day job has been that of a branding photographer for a number of years and in the absence of people to photograph during COVID, I started cooking, photographing and blogging….and eating which goes without saying!

Once the world emerged from the COVID fog, I went back to branding photography and lost track of Cook Love Shoot. And then I did a really stupid thing…I deleted my cooking blog…doh!! So, I’ve decided to give it another go and I hope you like what you see.
